· A secure entrance vestibule would improve safety, with related work to make the front office more functional and accessible.
· A two-story addition with an elevator would result in the net gain of six classrooms for this building, enabling Fair Haven to expand to a true, full-day kindergarten. Of comparable districts in Monmouth County, Fair Haven is the only one not offering that kind of program.
· Added multipurpose space would accommodate the entire Sickles School population and be large enough to manage indoor recess when necessary. That new space would prevent the need to convert the gym for lunch service and back again, an intense time challenge for teachers and custodians.
· Beyond school events, the multipurpose room would expand the community’s indoor recreational space, which would benefit recreational basketball, youth groups like Brownies, etc.
· A World Language classroom to replace mobile-cart delivery of this highly valued aspect of comprehensive education, and to provide space for other small-group instruction.
· Upgraded electrical service and distribution, new boilers and masonry repairs would preserve the community’s investment and capitalize on state funding that is only available with a bond referendum.
· Added parking areas on Willow Street to ensure safety during drop-off and pick-up.
