Look, Listen, Learn

This phase of the process is about becoming aware.

• Look around your life (room, house, school, stores, sports, activities). What would you improve?
• Look around your life (people, places, systems). Observe! Really see what is happening. Do you see any problems or challenges?
• Listen to yourself. What are your interests? What are you curious about?
• Listen to others. Empathy (really understanding the needs and feelings of others) is crucial to getting ideas.
• Learn about others needs by talking to important people in your life.
• Learn about something new that sparks wonder in yourself.

Can you now connect those observations to Life Science?

Your final topic must connect to something in Life Science: humans, animals, natural environment, the structures of life, living things.

The good news is that almost anything connects to life on earth.

2. Complete the Look, Listen, Learn worksheet on Google Classroom. It must be completed before the first class.

In Class:

1. Use the resources to explore your interests and connect them to our science curriculum.

Homework:

1. Complete your topic choice and submit via Google Classroom.
2. Look for online feedback from your teachers
3. Adjust your topic and resubmit. Check for approval or keep refining until you get approval.
