A note from your librarian:

Dear McKinley Family,

As a town, we are trying to read one million minutes this summer!! If McKinley students read at least 20 minutes each day, we will do our part in reaching that goal. However, we know McKinley students love to read and will read more than that! For your convenience, we have compiled a summer plan with varied information and links to summer reading, math, and enrichment activities. You will find summer reading information from the Fairfield Public Library, including registration and fun challenges. Our graduating fifth graders will also find information from our middle schools. The summer plan can be found on the school homepage, under the Summer tab, and on our library web page under the Summer tab also.

It’s that time of year again… time to return your library materials to the McKinley Library! When it is your child's assigned day to drop-off school materials, please also bring all books that belong to McKinley Library. We ask you to please look carefully at home. All our books have a "McKinley School Library" barcode sticker on the back cover. Please see image. We need all the McKinley Library books back to get them ready to be used and enjoyed in the Fall. We appreciate your help!

We miss you and hope you are doing well!!

Please check Online applications tutorials below. These are also on the home page of the MCK library website.

Tech support is available Wednesdays at the McKinley library from 9:00-1:00. This will continue through the summer. Outside of these hours contact reghelp@fairfieldschools.org

Overdrive/SORA, 5th graders will have access to middle school reading materials starting May 8th.

This is a wonderful resource for our 5th grade students.

Dear Parents,

Are you looking for Digital Reading Resources for your children? Look no more! Our fabulous McKinley Library Media Specialist has compiled them in our library website. Look for it HERE and find the title " Digital Reading Resources for Parents."

McKinley Cafeteria:

Breakfast and Lunch daily: 8:00-1:00

This service will end on June 17th.

"Dear parents, McKinley's virtual Field Day was posted on June 11th! Students continue to participate in great movement activities that can be done at home with a wide variety of household items. Students and families can participate in the activities over the last few days of school. They are posted in your classroom pages! Enjoy and have fun!"

Please check our Nurse's corner below for important weekly news and updates.

Hi McKinley families,

Please continue to practice good hand washing, nose and mouth covering when outside near other people who are not from your family and respect social distancing! Until we hear otherwise, this is still in effect and we hope these measures will help bring us back to school in September!

For parents with children who have medication at school, all medication will be placed in their boxes to be picked up on June 15th and 16th. Please make sure to look inside. I placed an envelope with medications orders to be filled by your pediatrician over the summer. Don't wait too long to have it done as these things take time, even more so now.

For parents with children entering kindergarten, please follow the guidelines given on the McKinley kindergarten orientation presentation about physical and immunizations in the nurse's section.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Stay well!
