Meet the Team

Owner-operator Matthew Smith founded this company in October 2020, Smith grew up working in the aquatics industry on Prince Edward Island and quickly fell in love with teaching First Aid and Lifeguarding courses at a young age. With nearly 10 years of industry experience, Smith brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his courses. While teaching, Smith draws on his experience as a volunteer firefighter, lifeguard, paramedic, and biologist to deliver knowledgeable and rememberable courses. Alexa joined the FAAST PEI team in May 2021 as our Manager of Operations & Clerical Services. Locally born and raised, Alexa is a proud UPEI & Holland College alumnus who is using her knowledge of biology and paramedicine to develop course resources for our various programs. Over the coming years, Alexa will be expanding her skill set by taking courses to begin teaching First Aid & CPR courses. Stay tuned for more courses offered by Alexa!
