Concept
Something conceived in the mind: thought, notion. : an abstract or generic idea generalized from particular instances.
The concept is the essence of architectural design, it is understood as the transition of a subjective idea and its materialization, like a metaphor translated into a space, and in my opinion is the key to a successful design, is the soul of the project that could lead you to a great interior space.
There are no good or bad concepts, but only bad approach and development of conceptualization. The conception of the idea must be studied and understand what is to be expressed and how.
The conceptualization process consists first of gathering a lot of information and analogies, to the search of the key points to structure an architectural proposal that fully meets the needs of the client.
We will have a guest that will share with us the importance of the concept in each project.
Task
After the conference, you will need to choose 2 examples of an interior space that you like and figure out what was the concept for it. (The other way around than in real life process)
Do one slide presentation for your examples and be clear of what was the concept chosen. -1 slide with 2 different examples-, don't forget to mention where is it, who design it and what was the concept you thinks was used.
The task will be due Thursday 19, January at 10:00 hrs.
