Youth Hubs
In Los Angeles County, a significant number of children and youth—particularly those from historically marginalized communities—lack access to meaningful expanded learning programs during out-of-school hours. This disparity limits academic achievement, social development, and future career readiness. ExpandLA is addressing this challenge by expanding equitable access to enriching, impactful experiences for all youth.
A cornerstone of our strategy is the development of Youth Hubs—safe, inclusive, and innovative spaces often housed in repurposed public facilities such as schools, parks, or storefronts. These hubs integrate a wide array of services, offering streamlined access where youth can find opportunities and support. Guided by the voices of young people and their communities, we build environments that are responsive, coordinated, and effective. ExpandLA’s Youth Hubs direct vital resources to underserved neighborhoods and help build a more equitable future.
