Open to year 3, 4 & 5 BMBS Medical Students studying in the Truro Locality. Students are invited to apply for financial support to finance the purchase of an item of equipment or membership fees to a specific association or medical group that will enable them to further their medical studies, supporting their progression through the medical programme.
To apply: Submit a reflective piece of writing no more than 1 side of A4 detailing how the award and purchase of equipment or membership to an association will make a positive impact on their progression through the medical school.

The Dr Catherine Masterman Bursary is available to an incoming Y1 BMBS student who can demonstrate sustained academic excellence, sustained beneficial input into their local community, active involvement and leadership in activities at school, such as sport and societies, financial disadvantage (household income of less than £26,000)
Bursary Total £5000 (broken down £2,000 in Year One, and £1,000 in Years Two, Three, Four)

The submissions should also include a statement of support or reference from a clinician with whom the student has studied, with a focus on Paediatrics, giving an account of the students' clinical and professional performance on attachment.

The Mary Grigg Award is open to BMBS students currently studying in Cornwall who, for many reason, may experience financial hardship during the course of the academic year due to a change in circumstances, health or wellbeing issues or need for specialised resources or equipment.
The award is assessed by application to and has a value of £500. The applications will be considered by a panel convened by the Duchy Health Charity.
BMBS students are invited to apply for the Peter Thursby Prize for work in dementia by submitting applications that are derived from dementia work they have completed as part of their clinical attachments or Special Study Units.

Submit a reflective piece of writing of no more than 500 words to explain what outstanding personal sporting achievement they have made and how this has affected them. you will need to provide evidence of the achievement in the form of a certificate, photographs etc.

A panel of doctors from Newquay Health Centre will judge the entries and select a winner.

The prize requires application and is awarded to the student from each stage who demonstrates the highest level of exceptional professional behaviour during the academic year.
To apply: applicants must submit a no more than 200 word statement in support of one or more, of the domains below. In addition, substantiating evidence in respect of the domain(s) should also be submitted.
Applicants should also identify two referees who will be approached on a confidential basis to provide a reference in support of the applicant.
