Spencer James a star young football player living in Crenshaw gets an opportunity to play at one of the best schools in California. Head coach Billy Baker of the Beverly High Eagles recruits Spencer to join his team. Their is one problem it is an hour away from Crenshaw. His mother (Grace James) and his best friend (Coop) encourage him to take the offer. Spencer does but with doubts. Spencer thinks he needs to be there for his mom and his little brother, also to protect Coop. They reasure him that they will be ok.

Spencer led the Beverly high Eagles to a state championship. They had a great year. Now Spencer has a decision to make. Spencer might want to go back to Crenshaw. This is a big decision because everyone back at home hates him because he left Crenshaw. He also would be leaving all his friends in Beverly. Coach Billy Baker is also going back to Crenshaw to be the Head coach.  Billy grew up in Crenshaw.
