Overview
This movie is about a "Hockey Player" who became a pro golfer to make money to pay off his grandmother's debt. The main character Happy Gilmore gets invited to play golf in a tournament named the PSA by a girl named Virginia in her early 30's. After saying he wont play golf he goes to a golf range to hit a few balls he hits the ball over 400 yards. Everybody around him is amazed. A man who is a retired golf player, Chubb , tells him how he should play in the tournament. Once Chubb mentions he can make money from the tournament he doesn't think twice knowing he needs money to get his grandmother's house back. Chubb offers to be his coach and teaches Happy for free. Happy doesn't know the rules of golf and his caddy who becomes iconic in the movie he thinks is a random person. Chubb ends up being a great coach and teaching Happy through his whole career. When Happy faces tough opponents he gets encouraged to keep going when he thinks of quitting by Virginia. Happy has friends who pop in including Mr. Larson who happy shot a nail gun into his head on accident. Mr. Larson is big so he shows up to scare Happy's opponents. One of the most iconic opponents Shooter McGavin plays Happy in the playoffs, where they fight and challenge each other's abilities.Â
