🚨 Spoiler alert! 🚨
In the first season of Gilmore Girls, all of the main characters are introduced. The town of Stars Hollow is also displayed, along with the daily life of Rory and Lorelai, especially highlighting how Rory's life was different after being accepted into Chilton. Their life was especially changed because of the fact that Chilton was a highly prestigious, and expensive school, so Lorelai's parents had to pay for it, and of course, this came with some "conditions¹" set by Emily. Richard has his first heart attack, which is a scare for everyone. This season is also where Rory's first love interest is introduced, Dean, as well as one of Lorelai's, with hers being a rocky relationship with Max Medina. However in this season, towards the end, Rory and Dean break up.
In the second season of Gilmore Girls, Emily is upset with Lorelai, because she did not tell Emily about Rory and Dean's breakup. As a result of this, Rory experiences a lot of stress in school - so, to escape this stress, Rory and Lorelai leave Stars Hollow to go on a road trip to Harvard. When they return, Jess, Luke's nephew is introduced. In the next episode, Lorelai and Sookie have their first big fight, about opening their own inn, however they resolve it quite quickly. Rory is partnered with Tristan², however, his flirtatious personality leads to Dean becoming jealous of the time he gets to spend with Rory (despite their breakup). After this, Dean and Rory talk things out, and get back together. After this Dean's jelousy rekindles, after he sees Jess and Rory talking. Lastly, to end the season, Max spontaneously proposes to Lorelai.
In the third season of Gilmore Girls, Rory is torn between Jess and Dean. Emily keeps trying to set up Lorelai with different people, including Christopher (Rory's father), leading to tension, especially between Rory and Chris. Richard reveals that he supports the idea of Rory going to Yale, NOT harvard. In the middle of the season, Emily finds out about Lorelai and Max's engagement, leading to EVEN MORE tension. While all this is happening, Lane's rock band makes a debut - creating a dispute between her and her mother.
In the fourth season of Gilmore Girls, Lorelai and Rory return from their backpacking trip to Europe (something they have been dreaming of doing for years), and start preparing for Rory's college move-in. When they arrive, they discover that Rory's enemy, Paris, is her dorm mate. In a visit back to Stars Hollow, Rory runs into Dean - Awkward. Rory participates in Yale's newsletter and is constantly looking for ways to improve it, on her visit back home, she looks for inspiration. In the last episode, Emily and Richard are losing their spark, but the Dragonfly Inn is beginning to come alive, as well as Luke's love life - is Lorelai... jealous? The season ends with suspense as Lorelai and Luke spontaneously kiss at the very end.
Buckle up. This one was eventful. In the fifth season of Gilmore Girls, Lorelai's long awaited relationship with Luke begins! However, Emily and Richard are living separately. To take Emily's mind off of things, her and Rory take a trip to Europe, and when they return, Dean and Rory work things out to clarify what is going on. The Dragonfly Inn is running successfully, and a new character is introduced. Logan. A new romantic interest for Rory? They go on a "date" and begin a relationship. Rory's relationship with Chris is rocky, but Lorelai tries to help. Richard and Emily reconcile, but Rory and Logan agree to see other people. Rory regrets her decision, and they get back together. Rory begins her internship at Logan's dad's office. At the same time Lorelai has an argument with Luke, with them being awkward for a bit. After this passes, they are back to normal, however a turn of events occurs when Rory has an announcement. She is "taking a break from Yale." Some reasons for her doing this include: Legal troubles - including her and Logan stealing a yacht, negative feedback on her writing, and arguments with Lorelai.
In the sixth season of Gilmore Girls, Lorelai is not happy with Rory, Emily, or Richard. Lorelai does not support Rory's time off of Yale, and is upset with her parents for encouraging it. Luke is renovating Lorelai's house, and Sookie decides to ask Lorelai and Rory to be the godmothers of her children - in an attempt to get them to make up. Emily and Richard begin to see their mistakes with Rory and realize that she doesn't have many plans for her future. Rory and Lorelai are upset about spending Rory's 21st birthday seperate, and the begin to reconcile. Luke discovers his daughter, April, which he had no idea existed - she is already around 13 this season, and he tries to get to know her. Logan is acting insane, and Rory realizes his terrible actions while they were on a break. Lorelai is upset and confused about the situation with April and Luke, so they try to talk it out as well.
In the seventh and final season of Gilmore Girls, Lorelai and Rory, have their connection back and are comforting each other through the hard times they have to endure. Rory and Lorelai are going through emotional rollercoasters with their partners, however Rory realizes that long distance is creating emotional distance between her and logan as well. Christopher is more active in Rory's life. Lorelai disapproves of Rory and Logan's relationship, and in the end they break up. After a big fight, Lorelai and luke get back together. The show ends with a farewell to Rory, as she is going off independently to begin her major journaling career.
