Characters

Rory Gilmore is played by actress Alexis Bledel. She is one out of two of the main characters and is the daughter of Lorelai Gilmore. Lorelai and Rory have a very close relationship and are each others best friends. Rory is only a couple days away from turning 16 when the show starts. She attends the private high  school Chilton and after graduation she goes on to Yale University. Rory returns home after finishing college and soon gets a internship as a journalist.  

Lorelai Gilmore is played by the actress Lauren Graham. She is the other main character in this show. Lorelai gets pregnant at 16 and gives birth to her daughter Rory. A couple days after Rory is born, Lorelai leaves her parents house and puts a note on the table  saying they are leaving, because of this she and her parents have never been close. The two end up in their forever home, Stars Hollow. Lorelai works as a manager at the local inn but eventually starts her.

Emily Gilmore is played by actress Kelly Bishop. Emily Gilmore is the mother to Lorelai Gilmore, grandmother to Rory Gilmore, and wife to Richard Gilmore. Emily has always wanted the best for her daughter and granddaughter but has a bad way of expressing it. She lost her relationship with Lorelai and Rory when they left but years later they slowly become close again when Emily and Richard agree to pay for Rory's tuition at Chilton.

Richard Gilmore is played by actor Edward Herrmann. In the start of the show Richard works at an insurance company but ended the show teaching economics at Yale. He is the husband to Emily, father to Lorelai, and grandfather to Rory Gilmore. Like Emily he has also always wanted the best for his daughter and granddaughter. 

Luke Danes is played by the actor Scott Patterson. Luke owns Stars Hollow's local Diner, Luke's Diner. He has always had a special place in his heart for Lorelai and Rory.  He starts off as just the guy who poured their coffee and their right hand man. Luke ends off as Lorelai's fiancee and Rory's soon to be step dad. Luke is also Jess's uncle.

Sookie St. James is played by actress Melissa McCarthy. Sookie and Lorelai's are best friends. The two met at the Independence when Sookie was hired as the chef. Lorelai and Sookie have always had dreams of opening their own inn and lucky for them they were able to succeed in their dream. Sookie is married to Jackson Belleville and together the two have three kids.

Dean Forester is played by the actor Jared Padalecki. Dean was the first boyfriend of Rory. The two met at Stars Hollow High. Dean worked at the grocery store in Stars Hollow, Doose's Market for a few years, and then moved on to construction.  When Dean and Rory broke up for good and he started dating someone else, he ended up marrying her. Dean and his wife Lindsay were together for a little but their marriage ended when Dean had an affair with Rory.

Jess Mariano is played by actor Milo Ventimiglia. Jess first came to Stars Hollow to live with his uncle Luke because his mom was having trouble with him. Jess was a rebellious teen but he had a soft stop for Rory. The two of them met through Lorelai and Luke. He was Rory's second boyfriend. Jess hated Stars Hollow and didn't want to be there and when he turned 18 he moved back to New York. Jess stayed in New York and became an author. 

Logan Huntzberger is played by the actor Matt Czuchry. Logan comes from a very rich family and has a legacy to live up to.  He is very spontaneous and doesn't like to listen to his father. Logan is Rory's third boyfriend and the last one we see in the show. The two met at Yale through a mutual friend but ran into each other again a month or so later, that's when they became close. When Logan and Rory ended things for good he moved to London for his job in the family business
