The 'Connected Cow' works by a series of technology. First, the biggest part of the Connected Cow is a sensor called the NB-IOT. The other area is overall bolus technology. The sensor connects to an app based off of internet in the area, which the app is called 'smaXtec Cloud TruD', named after the company smaXtec which created this piece of technology. The sensor connects with the cow by being in the cows rumen, or first stomach, which lasts a lifetime inside the cow. The sensor goes into the cow's rumen by being inside the food as the cow proceeds to eat. The sensor is multiple inches long with about an inch of width. The reason for the sensor is to measure the cows physical activity, drinking cycles, digestive system, inner body temperature, stress, activities of the first stomach, and ph value. 

The 'Connected Cow' is a solution because the technology overall helps owners identify unknown health issues at a quicker rate than the recognition of the farmer, which also brings the prices of late medication down. It's also noticed that the technology improves herd fertility and daily routines of the cow. Lastly, the 'Connected Cow' is a solution because it is known to cause more milk into the tanks for sales.
