How does all of this work
Allowing your child to attend any kind of trip these days can be a little overwhelming. Especially overseas. However, the opportunity to allow them to grow and learn first hand is one that not many can say they had the chance to do. First, we do interest surveys and find out from students here at Everton School what places they are most interested in. Though it would be nice to go international all the time, we understand how completely unfeasible this is. So we try to balance the national trips with the international ones.
Next, we devise a plan for what the trip will look like and what we will focus on seeing and learning. Depending on the trip, we want to make sure that the students can learn and experience as much as possible during the time allotted, without cramming too much into each day.
Our next step is to then bring our ideas and plans before the administration. This gives them a chance to look at the details and see if there are things that need to be added or changed. After they have given us the go ahead we take the plan before the school board where it must be approved before moving forward.
If approved by the school board, we next figure out which travel company we plan to work with. (We have used multiple different travel companies in the past, depending on the destination we use specific companies. At this time we prefer to use EF Tours.)
The tour company will put together an itinerary based on our information and requests and a quote for the cost of the tour. Our final step is to give out all the information to the students and guardians who are interested so we can have a successful trip.
Who is Mr. C?
Hello, my name is Mr. C. Well that's what the students call me, my name is Caleb Daniels and I grew up in the small town of Everton. If you would've told me when I was younger that I would travel so much and that I would even have a minor in Asian Studies I probably would've told you that you were crazy.
However, I am a huge history buff, I love to learn about the past and especially Asian history and culture. There are so many fascinating stories and magnificent historical structures dating back thousands of years. I think that everywhere you go has something to teach you and that if you stop to listen you could gain knowledge and life lessons that can help you in the future.
I have been to China 4 times and each time I've went I've learned new things, made new friends and experienced a wealth of knowledge about a culture that many know very little about. I have been to Europe and almost every state inside the U.S. One thing I have learned from all my travels is that no matter where you go there are good people and infinite things to learn. I have taken students personally overseas 3 times and enjoyed every second watching them grow and learn about not only the history of a place but the culture and why people of different countries are both similar and different from us.
