FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Will you be auditioning alone?

In the initial first audition, yes, each student will be singing on their own, on stage, and singing to the performance track. In the callbacks, you will be reading pages from the script with one or two other actors. Those assignments will be provided in advance. You also may be asked to sing a second time in callbacks. It's a good idea to be prepared to sing "On the Steps of the Palace" for the callbacks.

2. What if you're only interested in the featured dancing roles? Do you have to sing? Or can you just sign up for the dance audition on Thursday?

If you choose only to be considered for the featured dancer roles (there are 4), you don't have to sing. You can choose to only sign up for the dance audition on Thursday. PRO TIP: To increase your opportunities, you might want to sign up for a singing audition, and if you are a dancer with dance experience, also sign up for a dance audition.

3. What if you're interested in being a stage manager? What should you do to be considered for one of the two student stage manager positions?
