The Students of Color Union at Henrietta Lacks High School called upon the Washington State Legislature to acknowledge the contribution of Henrietta Lacks' cells to medical research. SOCU's actions, in collaboration with Senator Wellman, resulted in the Henrietta Lacks Resolution which recognizes injustices done to her and her family and calls for a continued focus on ethics in science and medicine.
