Pre-Lesson activities are done before the In-Person Fieldwork to prepare students with experiences, skills, and knowledge that will help them learn successfully at Coastal Roots Farm.
Teachers give an introduction, watch the video as a whole class, and have students plant their seeds. Do this ~2 weeks before your scheduled field trip to Coastal Roots Farm. Teachers, plant your seeds at the same time students plant their seeds.
Teachers introduced quantitative and qualitative data collection on day 1 or 2 of planting. Have students make observations every other day for 2 weeks. Students can graph their plant's growth each day or at the end of the 2 weeks.
