LA COSTA HEIGHTS

DISTRICT ENRICHMENT

Yoga

Students learn how to connect their breath to movement and increase their ability to self-manage. The program balances physical movements with character education; structure with adaptability; and rigor with fun. All components of Health & Wellness support EUSD’s World Ready Traits and Skills.

T.R.A.C.

Students and classroom teachers take part in weekly TRAC (Teambuilding, Regulation, Acceptance, and Community) lessons, which is EUSD’s Social Emotional Learning program. TRAC represents our values as a district. We are committed to building a community in which students, staff, and parents feel safe, feel valued and feel that what matters to them matters.

SITE ENRICHMENT

Performing Arts

Students in Performing Arts participate in singing, learning about different types of music and musicians, playing musical instruments, and participating in improv and theater techniques. Each class participates in our Leaders on Stage performance, where students can share their talents in an encouraging environment that fosters confidence and public speaking skills.

Art

Students at La Costa Heights are provided opportunities to creatively express themselves through mixed media art experiences. Students are able to create unique pieces, express their own ideas, problem solve, learn from their mistakes and discover new ways to create.

Science

Hands-on science classes support the Next Generation Science Standards for California Public Schools and bring the components of science to life. Students have the opportunity to experiment, make mistakes, correct, discover how to solve problems, and experience the joy of discovery!

Physical Education

La Costa Heights knows that a physically active student is a healthy student! P.E. activities are designed to help students grow and develop physically, socially, and emotionally. Through age appropriate active games and play, sportsmanship, collaboration, and teamwork are emphasized.
