After working through a unit of inquiry, students are encouraged to consider what actions they can take with their new knowledge and conceptual understandings. Their actions typically fall into one of the following categories.
Participation
Advocacy
Social Justice
Social Entrepreneurship
Lifestyle Choices
Action can take multiple shapes and forms, and takes place over any period of time. Students may take action months after a unit of inquiry, while other times they may take action immediately.
Modeling actions in the classroom helps encourage students to start initiating actions on their own.
Has a student taken action? Share it with the community! This can be the school community, the local community, and even the global community. Inform the class teacher if you notice that a student has been taking action at home! By sharing the action your class has taken, you can inspire others to take action of their own!
