Jazz Band

Jazz Band at Cavitt Junior High is an option that is open to all Concert Band & Symphonic Band students who are interested and available to attend the twice weekly afternoon/evening rehearsals. PLEASE NOTE: The Jazz Music is challenging and will require EXTRA PRACTICE at home. Do not sign up for Jazz Band if you are not willing to do the extra work!

Jazz Band includes the following instrumentation:

Alto Saxophone

Tenor Saxophone

Bari Saxophone

Trumpet

Trombone

Rhythm Section: Drum set, Piano, Bass Guitar & Electric Guitar

There may be additional spots available for vibraphone, flute & clarinet

***PLEASE NOTE: If you choose to participate in Jazz Band this year, you need to commit to attending EVERY rehearsal. If you cannot attend BOTH weekly sessions, you may not participate in Jazz Band. You may not have any more than THREE Jazz Band rehearsal absences per trimester.

Jazz Band Rehearsals:

Mondays @ 4:00-5:30pm

Wednesdays @ 2:00-3:00pm

Rehearsals will start on Wednesday, September 7th
