EUSD is offering a new program for delivering excellent instruction for Academic Year 2021-22. In addition to traditional, in-person, brick and mortar schools (All our schools are award-winning!) - EUSD will offer:

  • Long Term Independent Study - referred to as LTIS, this program is available for families who are concerned with health and safety and wish to remain in distance learning for 15 or more days.

This option allows for return to in-person schooling. For LTIS, students are allowed to return at the end of the identified time frame in the written contract.

If your child receives special education services, options will have to be considered through the Individual Education Plan process. Please reach out to Kristi Marinus at kmarinus@eurekausd.org for more information.

ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT EUSD’S LONG-TERM INDEPENDENT STUDY PROGRAM

Academic Year 2021-22

July 28, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you are having a wonderful summer!

Recently, a new bill was introduced, SB130, that requires all districts to offer families who are uncomfortable sending their children to in-person instruction in the fall a Long Term Independent Study program (LTIS) via distance learning. This program will provide daily live instruction for students via Google Meet. We would like to evaluate our parents' interest in this program.

To help with your decision-making, we ask that you reference the most recent information that was shared with you via an email from our district. It describes how our schools will look in the fall when we open for in-person instruction.

Long Term Independent Study will include:

  • Daily Live Instruction/Interaction at TK-8 (for CORE SUBJECT areas)

  • A written contract between parents and teachers

  • Access to a Certificated, Credentialed teacher

  • Access to Core Curriculum and Supplementary Learning Resources

  • Academic Intervention, if needed

If you are interested in having your child participate in LTIS, please contact us at LTIS@eurekausd.org.

Also, we invite you to attend an Information/Overview Meeting for LTIS on August 4, from 5:00 - 6:00 pm via Zoom (LINK).

Thank you!
