The purpose of our project was to learn about math standards with a real world application. We also got to eat and share a lot of popcorn!
We learned how to use unit rates to find the cost of the ingredients for each batch, how to convert measurements, and how to find the mean, median, and mode of the times and measurements we recorded for each batch of popcorn we made.
Making popcorn in class. Everyone has a job when we make popcorn.

We popped 400 bags of popcorn for Family Math Night in November 2024. Each bag had a tag with a QR code for this website so people could learn more about the project. We helped hand out the popcorn and other refreshments at the event.
