About Me

I was a teacher for 15 years working in elementary, middle, and high school learning environments. I started my full time teaching career at HTH and have been teaching and learning at a comprehensive high school site for the past 9 years. I am currently working in student intervention.

My Vision:

I want to use my strengths and values as a leader to productively and lovingly serve the community I work for.

My Strengths:

I am a leader of action. I am also a leader with the experience and wisdom to understand that action must be tempered with patience, details. vision, and engaged stakeholders.

My Interests:

I am experienced and interested in many aspects of educational design but am especially passionate about developing systems that create equitable and supportive learning environments for students. Supporting the development of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) has been an area of great interest for me. There can be a level of disorganization and siloing of initiative resources that can be addressed with the implementation of a MTSS framework. I feel I am uniquely capable of helping a school in the process of building, unifying, and organizing resources that support students.

My Values:

My values are centered in equity. More specifically, I want to be able to help develop learning environments that have the capacity and support, built into every level of learning, to give all students what they need to succeed. Learning should be an environment that is joyful, supportive, and capable of adapting to an individual's needs.

My own journey through education was complicated. I am in education leadership for the students I serve. I want to give the educational community I work for and with, the kind of support and respect that I could not find in my own educational experience. Relationships build awareness and equity. I start and end everything I do, with an awareness of the importance of relationships.
