When I'm ready, how do I take an official HiSET exam?    

• FIRST, you will need to create an account at the following link:  https://test-takers.psiexams.com/hisetcalifornia/auth/login

• YOU WILL NOT PAY ANY $$ UNTIL YOU SCHEDULE A TEST THROUGH YOUR HISET ACCOUNT. YOU PAY ONLINE AND NOT AT THE OFFICE.

• Where do I take the HiSET?

  • In-person computer-based testing at EAS! Our campus is an official testing location. We conduct HiSETexams Mondays -Thursdays in Room 203 throughout the year (see above calendar ⬆️). Testing dates and times are scheduled through the ETS -HiSET website after you have made an account. 

  • Taking a HiSET Exam at Home: See the following link for details: HISET at Home Link 

--You may also check the ETS HiSET website link listed above for openings at test centers in San Diego / Riverside County including Poway Adult School if those locations are better for you. Remember to create an account FIRST.

Retesting HiSET?

Retesting:  What to know: HiSET test takers may take each subtest a maximum of three (3) times in 6 months. The 6 month period is split into two 6 month periods each year.
First 6 month period: January 1 to June 30
Second 6 month period: July 1 to December 31st

How it works: If you take your first official HiSET subtest in the month of January and then take two retakes at a test center in the months of February and March, you would not be permitted to take that subtest again until July of the same year.

What it costs: You may retake each subtest two times within each of the 6 month periods following your first attempt by paying only the test center fee (approx $20).
