February Exhibition:

Students in Ms. Sydlowski's Advanced Studio Art Class respond to a selected personal space in their homes by recreating a monochromatic collage. The color choice is largely a synesthetic response. Synesthesia is a sensation produced in one modality when a stimulus is applied to another modality, as when the hearing of a certain sound induces the visualization of a certain color. Additionally, artists throughout time have created representations of bedrooms or other architectural spaces as an expression of their relationship within the world and to place themselves within the lineage of art history.
