Before the Workshop

1. Download the installer: https://github.com/gem/oq-engine/blob/engine-3.6/doc/installing/windows.md

2. Run the installer and follow the wizard to complete the installation.

Requirements:

• Windows 8 / 8.1 / 10 (64-bit)
• 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended)
• 1.2 GB of free disk space

2. From the Terminal app, run:

cd Downloads

chmod +x openquake-setup-macos-version.run

./openquake-setup-macos-version.run

Requirements:

• Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) / 10.11 (El Capitan) / 10.12 (Sierra) / 10.13 (High Sierra)
• 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended)
• 1.2 GB of free disk space

1. Download the installer: https://github.com/gem/oq-engine/blob/engine-3.6/doc/installing/ubuntu.md

2. From a terminal, run:

cd Downloads

chmod +x openquake-setup-linux64-version.run

./openquake-setup-linux64-version.run

Requirements:

• GNU/Linux with bash
• libc version at least 2.14 (i.e. a distro not older than CentOS 6)
• 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended)
• 1.2 GB of free disk space
