Writing--Our graphic novels are taking shape and the plots are thickening! Can't wait to see what these students create!

PBL--Bee groups projects are coming together. We are working on synthesizing our research into full paragraphs. Not always an easy task! We are also working together to solve some of the complications that come along with working on one project as a group.

Mrs. Shim's 4th Grade Math: Unit Assessment on Tuesday, 10/10! Look for this to be sent home, graded by me, later in the week. Along with the assessment will be a short letter explaining our grading system and a post-test reflection, which your student will fill out after taking the test. The test must be signed and returned to school within the week.

SKILLS TO BE ASSESSED: listing all factors for a number; multiples; prime and composite numbers; multiplicative comparisons (ex 63 is 9 sets of 7;) ratio tables; dimensions of a rectangle when given one side and the area; writing an equation from a story problem; solving that equation while showing their work through numbers and/or drawings.

COMING UP:

Next week THURSDAY, 10/12 is our trip to STEM Fest at UW Sheboygan. Return your pink permission slip if you haven't already! Parent volunteers with background checks on file are welcome. If you don't have one on file, stop by the office next week!

Next week THURSDAY, 10/12 is also PICTURE DAY.

See below for some snapshots from the past two weeks--our class hard at work on their bee research, and the 4/5 classes during the firefighter visit!

Have a wonderful weekend!
