Use the catalog to find library materials, including the physical books on our shelves and any e-books and audiobooks available through our online collections.
When logged into the catalog, students can also see which books are currently on their accounts and can place holds on books.
Not sure how to log in or place a hold? Here are some step-by-step directions.
Information about how and where to access e-books and audiobooks, both those in ETHS's collections and those from other resources (including Evanston Public Library) can be found here.
Links to each resource and step-by-step instructions are also provided.
Databases & Online Reference Materials
Scroll past the "orange buttons" to find drop-down menus with links to our Online Reference Materials, including paid subscription-based databases (organized by subject) and access to online newspapers and periodicals (including SIRS Researcher and UMI/Proquest).
Important Note: when accessing these *outside of ETHS*, you need to use the provided "Access Online Materials from Home" link instead!
LibGuides are sort of like online bibliographies created by library staff to help you begin research into a particular topic or subject area.
In other words: all the info about an assignment and all the links you'll need for it, all in one place, thanks to collaboration between your teacher and a librarian.
Books 'R' Us Book Club is an after school activity that has been a part of ETHS since August 2001. Open to every student enrolled at ETHS, the club's mission is to promote a love of reading for pleasure, to read books that are culturally relevant to the teen population we serve, and to provide a safe space for all students to express themselves.
The Lincoln Award is a statewide program from AISLE (Association of Illinois School Library Educators) designed to encourage HS students to read. Each year a list of 20 nominees is made by the committee, but the winner is chosen exclusively by students who read 4 or more of the nominated titles.
Created using GoogleSlides, these genre-specific and/or seasonal displays offer direct links to featured e-books and audiobooks and, often, link to outside resources (such as online biographies and organization websites).
Is there a book or DVD you feel ETHS should own that we currently do not have in the collection? Let us know!
NOTE: Make sure you double check the catalog to see if we already own the book. If we do, skip this form and just place a hold on the book while logged into Destiny.
Your review (or parts of your review) may be used on one of the libraries' websites or social media accounts, but will *never* be used with your full name attached to it.
(We also will share it without using *any* part of your name, if you indicate that as your preference.)
