The ETHS Books 'R' Us Book Club is an after school activity and has been a part of ETHS since August of 2001. The book club is open to every student enrolled at ETHS. The club's mission is to promote the love of reading for pleasure, to read books that are culturally relevant to the teen population we serve and to provide a safe space for all students to express themselves.

We would like to say Farewell to our books R' Us Book Club Senior C/o 2025, AMINATA, BEATRICE, LEELA ,MARCIA, and BEN. We wish you all the very best and stay productive and come back and visit us.

A few of some amazing authors who have graced our school over the years. Some of our Books 'R" US Book Club Favorite Books and Authors in-Person and virtually. The club hosted YA Author, Kim Johnson, of the book, This Is My America,DaShka Slater of the 57 Bus,Aquanetta Gordon of the book,Echoes of an Angel,and Samira Ahmed of the book,Love Hate & Other Filters, and Michelle Zauner of the book,Crying in H Mart.

ETHS Book Club students collaborated with Northwestern University's One Book Community Read Program and the eths partnership office located at eths. We read the book Hidden Figures and watched the movie inside the ETHS planetarium along with the Evanston community... Students also had an opportunity to hear the author speak and met the author, Margot Lee Shetterly.

ETHS Books 'R' Us Book Club students had an opportunity to meet Young Adult author, Ms. Pamela Samuels Young. Ms. Young is a Labor and Employment Law attorney in Southern California. Ms. Samuels-Young visited our school to discuss her book, #Abuse of Discretion and the Juvenile Justice System with our ETHS students.

Thanks to the generous support and donations of books for many of our literacy events. The ETHS Boosters Club, The Links Incorporated of Evanston, Northwestern University's One Book Community Program, The ETHS/Northwestern Partnership Office, ETHS Student Activity Dept. History Dept., Science Dept. The Lit. Lab., English Department, and the IIT Dept.
