Adam Gottlieb (he/they) is a cultural worker from Chicago: a musician, poet, teaching-artist, organizer, and leader of the Fusion band Adam Gottlieb and OneLove. Since 2010 he has performed and taught music and poetry widely throughout the Chicago area, the U.S., and even internationally. This will be Adam's ninth consecutive year co-leading the Poetry Week programming at ETHS.
Darius Rashad Parker (He/Him) is a Queer Black Scholar, Activist, Poet, and Performer based in Chicago, IL. Darius has a BA in Journalism with a minor in Black Studies from NIU and an MA in Critical Ethnic Studies from DePaul University.
Darius has been a member of the Kuumba Lynx Performance Ensemble since 2005 and has also served as Resource Coordinator for Kuumba Lynx, in partnership with Uplift HS. As a current Local School Council Community Representative at Uptown's Brennemann Elementary School, Darius demonstrates a commitment to centering the whole person in a way that involves children, family, and community partners.
Darius's goal is to empower youth through the arts and to make any experience involving youth, art, and poetry one infused with love, liberation, and truth.
Toly Walker is an English teacher, poet, and sponsor/mentor/inspirer of many student poets. Ms. Walker has been an educator for over 20 years at Chicago-area schools and has coached several ETHS teams at Chicago's Louder Than A Bomb (LTAB) Youth Poetry Festival.

Our beloved Poetry Week Open Mic will be back this year (!!!), but will take place after school at 2:45 instead of during lunches. Come to share your poem or to hear and support your peers and students!
