ETHS Career PathwayS
Our Mission: We are here to help all young people find their own path to a career. We believe there are many roads to success, so we work to shine the light on the full range of career opportunities and the many ways to get there. Whether their entry point is straight from high school or from college, we help young people make plans to choose a job with a future to succeed and to thrive.
The ETHS Career Pathways Guide is a resource designed to help students connect their course selection and extracurricular activities to their career interests and plans. The guide utilizes a career pathway framework to outline occupational choices and educational preparation that relate to the various groupings of career fields. The current employment outlook for the United States indicates that most jobs will require postsecondary education and training beyond high school. Whether a student is preparing to attend a four-year university, a two-year college, the military, or the workforce, the exploration of possible pathways is vital. Though many students may continue to change their minds throughout their high school careers about their pathway selections, it is valuable for students to explore multiple areas while still in high school to assist in decisions about where their skills and passions exist.
We encourage students and their families to use this guide and the ETHS Course Selection Guide to help choose courses and activities offered at ETHS that will allow students to explore and develop their career interests. Course selection should be purposeful and take into account high school graduation requirements, college admission requirements, and career preparation.
