Debbie Schraeder, Presenter (Cass-Douglas Room)
This session is designed especially for teachers who are working with young learners in this highly transitional period. The expectations of learning for students in Third Grade through Sixth Grade transition away from a focus on “learning to” read and write toward “learning through” reading and writing. Participants will spend the day engaged in learning about the traits and using trait-based rubrics to assess student writing. Participants will also engage in lessons that teach the traits within the writing process and that teach the traits using literature.
