This graphic illustrates the High Ability Learning Identification Pathway for Students in Grades 3

Students in grade 3 are able to auto-qualify for HAL via state-approved standardized assessments by meeting one of the following: 1) 95%+ on MAP ELA, Math, Reading, or Science sections; 2) 95%+ on NSCAS ELA, Math, or Reading sections (NOT NSCAS Science, as this section is a fixed-form assessment, and not adaptive); or 3) a 95%+ composite score on other approved assessments, including Acadience, aimsWeb, ELPA, FastBridge, i-Ready, STAR, or DIBELS Amplify (interim assessments only, not benchmark scores). 

Students who score below 95% will not qualify for HAL in grade 3, but will be reassessed in 4th grade.
