A Step-by-Step Process for Your Lesson Design
COLLABORATION - classroom teacher & arts teacher partner up to work on an integrated lesson or unit
CONTENT STANDARDS - write down the content standards, objectives, (or even topics) for the month or quarter. You can find the Nebraska Standards here.
ARTS STANDARDS - seek out arts standards that naturally align to your chosen content standards
ALIGNMENT - write down your standards side-by-side on our ITA Lesson Plan Template
ASSESSMENT - determine / develop your assessment based on your standards
WRITE THE LESSON - fill out the lesson plan template, giving consideration to the standards at the top and the assessment at the bottom
TEACH AND ASSESS - teach the lesson, assess and reflect on its effectiveness.
