SkillsUSA Fall State Leadership Community Service Competition
During the 2025-2026 SkillsUSA Fall State Leadership Conference, I participated in the community service competition. During these competitions, you are placed in a group with people from other schools, even if you don't know them. My team was group six; we had 10 members. Our task was to create a poster using the materials provided to us, and to make a video and a presentation demonstrating why community service helps students and institutions.
The second part of this competition was building bikes for children in the Boys & Girls Club. My team and I built 3 bikes, and we were the first team to finish building bikes. As a fun aspect of the community service part, we had to do a 90's commercial, and my team won 1st place.
As part of the competition, we had to present our poster and our video. In those two, we had to present and show how community service helps students and institutions, and how it affects people's lives. The name of our presentation was "Gearing Up To Give Back". My team came in first place for our presentation and third place for our video.
