  • What is being celebrated and valued?

  • How can sport be a method of building culture and provide for cultural identity?

  • How do both the Irish and Hispanic immigrant communities demonstrate pride in their culture? How do different ethnic communities celebrate pride in cultures in America today? Why is this meaningful to people? Is it more difficult for some groups to celebrate pride than others? Why? Do you celebrate a culture? Was it always easy for you to embrace this? Why?

  • How might celebrations become a means of community organizing and building a grassroots base? Where do you see evidence of this?
