Board members have a mandatory one-hour board meeting every week, and every two weeks there's a meeting with our parent organization ESN Sweden.
These meetings are used to delegate tasks and so that everyone understands what's going on within the organisation. The tasks themselves are expect to be completed in-between board meetings.
An estimate would be ~5 hours per week. (not including time attending meetings or events)
Being able to work in a team is really important.
Also basic time and stress management skills are necessary to be able to balance volunteer work at ESN Södertörn with your studies.
The president's main tasks are related to project management and stakeholder management.
Being able to delegate work and organize a team is crucial. Oftentimes as the president you are expected to be the most knowledgeable about ESN Södertörn. Being able to communicate that knowledge to our key partners ("stakeholders") is also important.
The vice-president's main tasks are related to stakeholder management and whenever the president is unavailable: project management.
Attention to detail. Fluent English and Swedish.
Accounting and budgeting skills
To be a good event manager you should be well organized, both in tasks and time management.
Also, you should be quite creative and have good problem-solving skills.
Lastly, since you will work with the media and communication management, you should have good communication and somewhat leadership skills!
Basic knowledge of graphic design since most of the job entails creating content for our social media and printing posters to hang at the school. Knowledge and access to adobe programs such as photoshop and illustrator are helpful but not required.
Communication skills are also important. You need to be able to hype people up into being active on our social media channels and get them interested in our events.
You also need to keep close contact with the events manager.
Creativeness is also a great strength to have since you have to come up with new ideas for posters and posts.
