The Automóvel Clube de Portugal (ACP) recognizes and promotes trees of great natural and heritage significance. Among these, a magnificent tree stands out, considered an arboreal specimen of exceptional dimensions.
Known as "The Contige Eucalyptus," this specimen is famous for its imposing crown and is often cited as having the largest tree canopy in the world. Its extraordinary size and natural value make it a regional symbol, attracting visitors and sparking the interest of scholars and nature lovers alike.
This eucalyptus represents not only a unique piece of natural heritage but also serves as an important testament to the relationship between the landscape, local history, and environmental preservation.
In our opinion, the visit to the Parish Council of Sátão was very interesting and enriching, we had the opportunity to better understand the work carried out by the council and its importance to the local community. We found it important to see how this institution supports the population, organizes activities, and contributes to the development of the parish. It was a useful experience to better understand how local administration works.
