September 2024
Being the internationalization of the school and the multilingualism one of our Erasmus+ Accreditation project main objective, on the European Day of Languages, 26th September, our students participated in the challenge proposed the by European Center of Modern Languages and the Council of Europe.
The challenge was to create a poster illustrating the theme "Languages for Peace." Participants could use symbols, quotes, and illustrations to convey messages of unity and understanding among different languages, promoting the use of languages as a means to overcome linguistic and cultural divisions. Prizes were awarded to the five most creative entries, and up to 30 posters were exhibited at the European Centre for Modern Languages!
We created several posters, and one of them from 2nd ESO B is already on display in Graz, at the European Centre for Modern Languages!! Congratulations! 🎉

ERASMUS + MOBILITY TO MERSIN, TÜRKIYE
To further our Erasmus+ objectives, foster internationalization, promote multilingualism, and encourage coexistence and democratic values, a mobility program to Mersin (Türkiye) took place in October 2024. The host school in Mersin warmly welcomed us as we worked alongside Turkish students on the effects and consequences of water pollution. Together, we did many activities!
We exchanged presentations about our countries, schools and tradition
We explored the impact of water pollution and learnt the impact of grey and black waters and saw the Tarsus waterfall
We walked through Mersin guided and explained by the Turkish students
We observed and participated in local arts and crafts workshop in Cappadocia
We did a Let's clean up activity in Mersin beach
We attended English lessons
We went on a boat tour to discover the coast of Mersin as well as its traditional food and dances
Additionally, the Spanish team was hosted by Turkish students' families, fully immersing themselves in the local culture and way of life. It was truly an enriching experience for everyone involved!
Teşekkürler, Thanks!

DEAR PEN PAL PROJECT
The Dear Pen Pal is a project we have with an English school, which is in the south of England. With this exchange, the aim is for the students to get to know another reality, which is the reality from the United Kingdom. We're going to write in English and they are going to write in Spanish.
The aim is that you get to know them and they can also get to know you, that you get to know England and that you can see what English culture is like, and above all break some myths and stereotypes. So, normally, when we do Erasmus projects, we partner with other schools to practise English, but they are never English schools, because of Brexit, so the idea is that you can have contact with an English school.
Hope that you enjoy it, cheers!

GETTING TO KNOW OUR FRENCH ETWINNING PARTNERS FROM LENS
On connaît nos partenaires eTwinning de Lens, en France
Bonjour !
December 2024
1st Talk about your Erasmus experience
We have explained the mobilities to our classmates from 1st, 2nd and 3rd ESO!
The students who participated in the mobility to Turkey had the opportunity to share our knowledge about water pollution with our classmates from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ESO. Through the presentation Talk about your Erasmus experience and discussions, we explained our experience in Mersin, raising awareness about the effects and consequences of water pollution and the consequences of not having recycling bins in our school.
Students from 1st ESO learned about grey water, a concept particularly useful for their Plastic Pirates project. Meanwhile, 2nd ESO students gained insight into what it means to participate in an Erasmus program, just as the selection process is about to begin. For 3rd ESO students, this experience helped improve their English proficiency as they listened to us peers and engaged in discussions. They also had the chance to ask questions about the mobility, which was especially valuable for the five students preparing to join the upcoming Erasmus trip to Hungary.

ERASMUS + MOBILITY TO TISZAFÜRED, HUNGARY
30 March to 5 April 2025
From 30 March to 5 April, students and teachers took part in an enriching Erasmus+ mobility programme in Hungary, focused on water education, sustainability, innovation, and cultural exchange. Hosted by our Hungarian partners in Tiszafüred, the programme combined scientific learning, environmental awareness, and intercultural experiences.
The mobility began with the arrival of participants in Budapest, where students explored the city’s strong connection to water. Activities included learning about the Danube River, Europe’s second longest river, and its many uses — from transportation and hydroelectric power to industrial and residential water supply.
Participants also visited the Budapest South-Pest Wastewater Treatment Plant, discovering innovative technologies used in sewage treatment and gaining insight into sustainable water management in modern cities.
At the host school, students were warmly welcomed with a ceremony, speeches, and a traditional Hungarian folk dance performance. Hungarian students guided their Spanish peers through the school, sharing daily routines, teaching methods, and student life.
Ice-breaking activities and student presentations helped both teams learn about each other’s culture, traditions, gastronomy, and geography, strengthening communication and cooperation.
The programme included outdoor and cultural activities such as a motor boat tour on Lake Tisza, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its rich biodiversity. Students explored wildlife, played team games by the river, and later visited the historic town of Eger, discovering its castle, baroque architecture, and parks.
A visit to Egerszalók’s Valley of Healing Waters allowed students to learn about the benefits of thermal and medicinal waters, linking natural resources to health and well-being.
At the Poroszló Eco-Centre, students explored the flora and fauna of Lake Tisza through interactive exhibitions, including the largest freshwater aquarium in Central Europe. A photo hunt activity encouraged observation, collaboration, and environmental awareness.
Scientific learning was a key focus of the mobility. Students took part in water-related experiments, exploring properties such as surface tension, density, and states of matter. Presentations covered global water challenges, water sports, and sustainable water collection systems.
One of the highlights was the creation of remote-controlled boats, where mixed international teams designed, built, tested, and improved unmanned marine vehicles. This activity encouraged problem-solving, creativity, teamwork, and engineering skills.
The final day included a Kahoot assessment quiz, sports activities, cycling and bird watching around the lake, and the exciting testing of the remote-controlled boats on open water. The mobility concluded with a farewell picnic, giving students time to reflect, socialize, and celebrate their shared experiences.
This Erasmus+ mobility strengthened students’ understanding of water sustainability, environmental protection, and European cooperation. Beyond knowledge and skills, it fostered friendships, cultural understanding, and a shared sense of responsibility for our planet.
Experiences like this show that learning truly knows no borders.
