To renew a license, educators must earn 18 CEUs.
CEUs can be obtained by:
completing coursework through an accredited university or college (6 graduate credits = 18 CEUs)
attending professional development and earning contact hours through certificates of attendance (180 contact hours = 18 CEUs)
other non-traditional activities with pre-approval from the LPDC
There are a ton of options for earning contact hours through professional development in-person or online. In addition to visiting the ESC's Calendar of Events, some of our other recommendations are included below:
Renewals of 5-Year Professional Licenses
Renewals of 5-Year Associate Licenses
Renewals of 5-Year Advanced Career Technical Workforce Development Licenses
Transitions to 5-Year Licenses from 8-Year Professional Certificates issued prior to July 2007
Alignments of multiple 5-Year Professional Licenses
Educators with a professional license expiring on June 30 of the current school year may initiate the renewal process beginning November 1.
Educators must have 18 approved CEUs or 180 contact hours (or a combination) on file with the LPDC in order to apply for a new license
Complete the licensure renewal application in CORE
All paperwork must be submitted prior to the June meeting for anyone whose license expires in that month
