Descriptor: Children ages 5 through the summer after high school graduation, with and without disabilities, spend their days from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm enjoying traditional camp activities, modified for their individual needs. Imagine building independence and confidence while swimming in the onsite pool, fishing in our catch-and-release pond, and visiting our horse barn. More memories are created while playing sports and games in our large field or on our adapted basketball court, making crafts, and on nature hikes on our 52-acre campus. A maximum ratio of 1 staff for every 4 campers, with 1:1 aides possibly available for an additional cost. Financial assistance may be available for families who qualify. Descriptor: A mix of camp and extended school year programs for school-age children and teens with disabilities, including mild to moderate autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Program services are designed and implemented by an Intervention Specialist. Each day, from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm academic instruction addresses IEP goals with activities that support social, leisure, and recreation skills in a summer camp format. Students are grouped to allow a maximum of 1 staff to 2 camper setting. Activities are designed to meet each student’s needs and ability level while receiving support from an intervention specialist and counselors. Speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists also provide required therapy minutes in student’s IEP target goals. Our Campsite is located in Wickliffe, Ohio at the Center for Pastoral Leadership (CPL). Campers engage in social and recreational programming as well as skill enhancement in a naturalistic setting. Program highlights include swimming, community outings, art, music, and adaptive exercise.

Descriptor: The Bright Futures session is a half-day summer program for preschool-age children with a visual impairment as a primary or secondary disability. All activities address pre-academics, socialization, and communication skills. Therapies are delivered through play and stimulate the development of compensatory skills, such as pre-Braille, pre-mobility, and daily living skills. For children with multiple disabilities, we utilize the Active Learning philosophy using specifically designed equipment and instruction practices. Weekly field trips will be included. Snacks and drinks are provided by the program, lunch is provided by parents. The program can serve as ESY, and NEON funding available for eligible families. Financial Assistance is made available if income eligible and no other funding sources are obtainable.
