Through animation and puppets, Sammy and his friends learn about the wonderful world of reading. Each video episode introduces one letter, and how those sounds build words. In seasons 3 and 4, students learn to break words into syllables with patterns and syllable types. The videos model systematic multi-sensory teaching. With animation, “Bumpy Letter” cards, sand trays and Felt Boards fly on magic carpets and through windows to the children. The children model how to use them. Teachers and parents are encouraged at the end of each video to use the materials seen in the video to reinforce the lesson of the day.
