ESCEO Dyslexia Team Facilitation

The dyslexia team at the ESCEO is available to help plan and facilitate the "Introduction to Dyslexia Course, Grades K-3" within districts. Facilitation allows teachers to engage in relevant activities and discussions for each of the 11 modules.

Dyslexia K-3 Modules
This slide presentation outlines various options for school districts looking to utilize the ODE Dyslexia Modules with a facilitator.

Dyslexia Modules Released
November 7, 2022
The Dyslexia course is now available through the Learning Management System (LMS). To access the modules, log into your OH|ID portal and select the LMS app. Follow the directions using the resource from ODE.
The Department is pleased to announce Ohio’s Dyslexia Guidebook is available. As required by Ohio law, Ohio’s Dyslexia Guidebook contains best practices and methods for universal screening, intervention and remediation for children with dyslexia or children displaying dyslexic characteristics and tendencies. Districts and schools should use the guidebook to access critical information for successful implementation of Ohio's dyslexia support laws.
The Department will develop additional resources and guidance to support schools and districts. The FAQ page will be updated as needed.

Tier 1 Dyslexia Screening Recording
Dyslexia Screening Recording from ODE
LM Clinton, from ODE, discusses the guidebook, support laws and screening requirements. Additionally, LM Clinton discusses the overlap between the TGRG and Dyslexia screening requirements. Conference recordings and presentation materials were released in October 2022
Highlight of the upcoming requirements as it relates to the Dyslexia Support Laws. The T&L team has included specific information regarding the support that will be provided to our member districts.
