Amy Strauch is currently the Component Director of Special Education and School Support Services at the Education Service Center, Region 20 located in San Antonio, TX. She is a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) and currently leads programs at ESC-20 that include Special Education, School Health, School Safety, School Counseling, and Mental Health. With over 20 years in the field of special education, Amy has experience as a practicing campus-based practitioner, an Evaluation Consultant, a Special Education Liaison, and a Special Education Coordinator.
Bianca Cole serves as a Special Education Coordinator at ESC-20. Bianca supports LEAs through the coordination of professional development and implementation supports that improve student outcomes in the areas of Dyslexia, Inclusive Practices, Low Incidence Disabilities, MTSS, Section 504 and ARD Supports.
Lisa Kirby is a Special Education Coordinator at ESC-20, supporting LEAs through professional development, compliance guidance, system improvements, and implementation support to enhance student outcomes. With over 29 years in education, she has served as a statewide liaison, curriculum consultant, campus coordinator, district staff developer, ARD facilitator, and both a general and special education teacher. Lisa’s leadership is grounded in building strong relationships, fostering a growth mindset, and maintaining a solution-oriented approach.
Evelyn Villarreal is currently a Special Education Coordinator at Education Service Center, Region 20. She is a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) and currently supports special education programs, including Autism, Evaluation, Deaf Education, Behavior, Speech & Language, Visual Impairment, Assistive Technology, and Related Services. Evelyn has over 20 years of experience in the field of Special Education with roles including being a practicing LSSP and a Special Education Coordinator at the district level, and an Evaluation Specialist and Special Education Coordinator with ESC-20.
Christy Beck is the School Health & Nursing Consultant for ESC Region 20. She received her BSN from UT Austin in 1997, MSN from UTMB in 2018, and earned a teaching certification in biology in 2002. She worked in intensive care units the first decade of her career and has experience as a nurse at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. She was a school health services administrator in Pearland ISD and Judson ISD. She taught high school IPC, Biology, and Health Science, has been an adjunct clinical nursing instructor, and worked at CHRISTUS Children’s Hospital as an educator and director. Her achievements include being inducted into Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honor Society and into Delta Kappa Gamma, International Society for Key Women Educators. She received the Goldin Foundation Excellence in Education Award in 2014. She is passionate about the critical role school nurses fill in supporting the health, wellness, and academic success of all students.
Dr. Cindi Bowling has been a Behavior and Discipline Consultant at the Education Service Center, Region 20 for 11 years. She has been in the field of education for over 20 years. Her passion is to guide people to be the best they can be for the world.
Kelly-Anne Carroll, an Inclusive Practices Consultant at ESC Region 20, brings two decades of experience in special education to her role. Her extensive background includes working in diverse educational settings such as resource rooms, co-teaching environments, content mastery programs, redirection support, behavior management, self-contained classrooms, and district-wide consulting. Currently, Kelly-Anne focuses on empowering educators to develop and implement highly rigorous and inclusive learning environments that ensure accessibility for all students.
Sarah Cave is an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) consultant at Education Service Center, Region 20. For over 40 years, she has served the early childhood community as a passionate advocate for all young children and their families, with a focus on inclusive education. Her professional experience includes teaching Prekindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st and 4th grades, piloting an innovative school based program for young children with Autism, serving as an ECSE program specialist, and a National Board Certification appraiser. She remains committed to learning and advocacy.
Evelyn Crespo is the Project AWARE Consultant at Education Service Center, Region 20 in San Antonio, TX, where she supports mental health expansion initiatives for Communities in Schools-San Antonio and East Central ISD. With 18 years of educational experience across Title I and military-connected schools, Evelyn specializes in coaching, training, and sustainability efforts to enhance student and educator wellness. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from UTSA and a Master's in School Counseling from Lamar University. Evelyn's career spans roles as an elementary teacher, reading interventionist, and counselor, where she excelled in crisis response, academic interventions, and leadership. Her achievements include being named Middle School Counselor of the Year and delivering presentations on mental health and advocacy at local, state, and national levels.
Dr. Janet Sanchez Enriquez is a Bilingual Board Certified Behavior Analyst and earned her doctorate from the University of North Carolina Charlotte. She currently is the Autism Consultant at Education Service Center, Region 20. Janet has over 15 years of experience working and supporting families and professionals in various settings in school districts and various community organizations across the US and Latin America.
Julia Eyer currently serves as a Special Education Statewide Liaison for ESC-20, assisting our LEAs with challenges of compliance and growth. Her past experiences include teaching deaf and hard of hearing students, providing speech and language services in the schools, and collaborating with school districts to implement systems change.
Diana Glass is an Early Childhood Special Education Consultant with 18 years of experience in education. Her career began as a classroom teacher, where she taught Pre-K to 1st grade, as well as 3rd grade, and developed a deep passion for supporting the early development of young learners. Now, she focuses on helping fellow educators enhance their knowledge and skill set, providing them with the tools and strategies needed to make meaningful impacts in their classrooms.
Sam Gonzalez is an Education Consultant, in the area of Special Education-Transition at ESC-20. He has his BS in Psychology and a Master’s in education . He has worked with the Transition program for the past 15 years at NISD and ESC-20. Sam has presented at the Texas Transition Conference, DCDT, Inclusion Works, Special Education Academy conferences and was a keynote for TAVAC. He is passionate about the transition process and helping students and adults who have disabilities be successful after they leave high school. Sam is an advocate for students and adults with disabilities and deeply committed to championing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility for all individuals.
Brandalyn Haggerty is a Licensed Professional Counselor with The Center for Health Care Services, which serves as the Bexar County Local Mental Health Authority. In her role as the Behavioral Health Partnership Program Liaison, Brandalyn operates from the Education Service Center, Region 20, where she focuses on supporting school districts with initiatives related to mental health, substance use, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from The University of Texas at San Antonio and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. With a professional background in various roles within the Local Mental Health Authority, Brandalyn has dedicated her career to advancing behavioral health programs for both adults and adolescents.
Dr. Kristi Jordan is the Special Education Evaluation Consultant at Education Service Center, Region 20. Kristi brings 13 years of experience serving the educational community through her expertise in special education services. She focuses on supporting students, families, and communities by ensuring that all students have equitable access to opportunities that promote success. Kristi received a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, a master’s degree in School Psychology with a minor in applied behavior analysis, and a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Math and Science. With a passion for educational equity, Kristi is committed to helping local education agencies and charter schools provide students and their families prosperous educational futures.
Jessica Kelley is the Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) Consultant at the Education Service Center, Region 20. She is a certified SLP by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed as an SLP by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. She currently supports Special Education programs, including Speech & Language, Assistive Technology, and Related Services. Jessica brings nine years of experience servicing the educational community through her expertise in Special Education with roles including being a practicing SLP in school and medical settings; and an SLP Consultant with ESC-20. Jessica is committed to support educators across ESC-20 in a student-centered approach to evaluations and supports.
Ravin Masker has over 20 years of experience, working in all realms of support and dedicating her career to fostering inclusive learning environments. Holding double Master’s degrees in Special Education and Administrative Leadership, she is passionate about creating equitable educational opportunities for all students. As a consultant for Inclusive Practices at Region 20, she works closely with educators to implement best practices in diverse classrooms. Outside of her professional life, Ravin loves spending time with her two daughters, especially if it’s near the water. She is deeply committed to ensuring that every student has access to the education they deserve.
Priscilla Molina is one of the Strategic Integration Liaisons at the Education Service Center, Region 20. She has her BBA in Business Marketing and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Special Education. She has worked in a self-contained and in a co-teach ECSE classroom for 10 years as well as an Early Childhood Special Education consultant. Priscilla has also worked as a Resource teacher for one year and has worked as an in-home trainer with students with Autism.
Renee Munn is a passionate early childhood educator with a proven track record of improving student outcomes. With a focus on literacy and academic achievement, she has successfully implemented innovative programs and systems. As the Director of Early Child Learning at Boerne ISD, Renee leverages a systems approach to meet the unique needs of young learners.
Tausha Nickleberry is a Consultant at Education Service Center, Region 20, where she serves as a Lead for the Stronger Connections grant. In this role, she focuses on strengthening non-academic supports and fostering positive climate and culture within school settings. Tausha is deeply passionate about this work and the meaningful, lasting impact it can have on both students and educators. With over 15 years of experience in education, Tausha has served in a variety of roles including classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and campus principal. These diverse experiences have shaped her belief in the power of strong relationships, supportive environments, and whole-child approaches to drive student success.
Kyla Shannon is the Low Incidence Disabilities Consultant at ESC Region 20—and she brings over 20 years of experience in the world of Special Education. Her journey has taken her from the classroom, where she taught students with significant cognitive disabilities, to the college scene at Texas Tech University’s Student Disability Services, and even into the nonprofit world, where she led programs supporting children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She’s passionate about partnering with teachers, administrators, and support staff to create meaningful academic and functional learning experiences for students with complex access needs—helping students build the skills they need to live as independently as possible and lead lives filled with purpose and possibility.
Goldie Tappan has over 25 years of experience in public education. Throughout her career, she has taught both general and special education across multiple grade levels and settings. Midway through her journey, she became a Certified Academic Language Therapist and Educational Diagnostician, providing dyslexia services and assessment support. Before joining Region 20, Goldie served in a central office role where she oversaw the district's dyslexia program. Today, she serves as one of our Dyslexia and Related Disorders Consultants and has completed her Qualified Instructor training to help prepare the next generation of dyslexia therapists.
Janie Watteau is a dedicated educator with 24 years of experience in teaching and leadership. Currently serving as a Statewide ESC 20 Liaison in Special Education, Janie has a rich background spanning early childhood, special education, STEM, and science and math education. Her mission is to create opportunities and deliver impactful solutions that ensure the best outcomes for K-12 students.
