Remember you get 2 forms of GT funding (The Basic Allocation and the GT allotment)
The District Basic Allotment on the Summary of Finance is line 16 ($6,160.00).
There have been some audits for the GT Allotment funds. 100% of the funds must be used for GT. (Line 28)

Here’s how to see your GT Funding Amounts (Follow these steps):
Ø Go to the TEA webpage www.tea.texas.gov
Ø Go to Finance and Grants section
Ø For reports, select “Summary of Finances"
Ø Select district/charter
Ø Select 2022-2023
Ø Once you run the report, District Basic Allotment is line 16
Ø GT Allotment is line 28
Added Sec.48.109.Gifted and Talented Student Allotment
An annual allotment equal to the basic allotment multiplied by 0.07 by the number of enrolled students served in a GT program
Not more than 5% of a district's ADA
Must be used in providing G/T Programming
Must account for the expenditure of state funds
Fails to implment a program, the district must refund the allotment
Repealed Section 29.124
(a) For each identified student, a school district serves in a program for gifted and talented students that the district certifies to the commissioner as complying with Subchapter D, Chapter 29, a district is entitled to an annual allotment equal to the basic allotment multiplied by 0.07 for each school year or a greater amount provided by appropriation.
(b) Funds allocated under this section, other than the amount that represents the program's share of general administrative costs, must be used in providing programs for gifted and talented students under Subchapter D, Chapter 29, including programs sanctioned by International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement, or in developing programs for gifted and talented students.
Each district must account for the expenditure of state funds as provided by rule of the State Board of Education.
If by the end of the 12th month after receiving an allotment for developing a program a district has failed to implement a program, the district must refund the amount of the allotment to the agency within 30 days.
Professional development costs for GT administrators and teachers (which are guided by the state plan).
Advanced placement courses designated as part of the GT program.
Gifted and Talented Services for students.
Funds may be used for MATHCOUNTS, Future Problem Solving, Odyssey of the Mind, and Academic Decathlon, as long as these funds are used to train personnel and provide GT services.
