This year’s Rise and Teach Education Conference was a huge success, with over 300 high school students joining us for an exciting day of learning and inspiration! Students from thirty different Region 15 school districts attended, along with school sponsors, passionate education presenters, and amazing partners like the Education Service Center Region 15, Angelo State University, and Howard College. The event was packed with energy, featuring dynamic keynote speaker Erin Gruwell, interactive breakout sessions, a campus tour of Angelo State University, and a heartwarming closing session that included the presentation of thirteen education scholarships.
Our mission is to support the next generation of Texas educators—especially students who dream of becoming teachers! We’re here to help them make the transition to higher education, thanks to fantastic partnerships with organizations like the Education Service Center Region 15, Angelo State University, Howard College, and local community members.
The day kicked off with welcoming remarks from the Education Service Center Region 15, Angelo State University, and Howard College, setting the stage for an inspiring event. Erin Gruwell’s keynote speech left everyone feeling motivated and ready to take on the future. Afterward, students participated in breakout sessions tailored to their grade levels, allowing them to dive into topics that sparked their passion for education.
The conference wrapped up with a special moment as we presented thirteen scholarships, made possible by generous contributions from the Education Service Center, Howard College, and our main sponsor, H-E-B. These scholarships will help students take the next step toward achieving their dreams of becoming educators.
The Rise and Teach Conference wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our incredible team, the help of our wonderful volunteers, and the amazing support of our sponsors. A huge thank you goes out to our partners at Angelo State University and Howard College for their unwavering support, as well as to all of our sponsors for making this event so impactful.
