A group of future educators at Miles High School recently completed the PAX Tools for Youth Workers certification course through their Instructional Practices class, led by Mrs. Minzenmayer. This specialized training equips students with trauma-informed, evidence-based behavioral strategies designed for working with youth in settings like schools, camps, daycare centers, and more.
Throughout the course, students explored how to teach behavior as a skill, the importance of positive influence, and ways to foster nurturing, supportive environments for young people. These dedicated students are now better prepared to serve their communities and step into future careers in education and youth services.
Congratulations to this outstanding group of highly trained and compassionate future educators!
PAX Tools is a collection of trauma-informed, evidence-based behavioral strategies for families and communities to promote the development of self-regulation of children in their lives.
Ideal participants are parents of students who have PAX Good Behavior Game at their schools, but is beneficial for anyone with youth in their lives. After school and pre-school providers, coaches, and faith-based volunteers are just a few specific groups that would benefit from incorporating PAX Tools.
