LEAs are required to implement and submit BOY and EOY data for Pre-K.
LEAs providing Pre-Kindergarten for eligible 4-year-olds must collect data on student progress in these five domains:
Emergent Literacy: Language and Communication
Emergent Literacy: Reading
Emergent Literacy: Writing
Mathematics
Health and Wellness (this includes Social and Emotional components)
Districts and Open-Enrollment Charters are required to submit this data annually to TEA's Early Childhood Data System (ECDS).
Data is required to be collected at the beginning (BOY), middle (MOY*), and end (EOY) of the year using an approved assessment tool from the Commissioner’s List. Data from BOY and EOY must be uploaded into ECDS.
*The MOY data collection requirement is new per the adopted Amendment to 19 TAC §102.1003, High-Quality Prekindergarten Program as required by HB 2729.
