This activity will show you how to effectively search and find relevant resources for your instructional purposes.
NOTE: you will need to login to your DE account to view links and resources.
When you're working on lesson plans and you know what topic you want to find resources for, a keyword search is your best bet!
Sometimes you are looking for inspiration and can benefit from a more broad search for resources. Try the Browse by Topic feature on your DE Streaming Homepage!
It's really important we are aligning our resources and activities to our state standards. In Texas, those standards are the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills). Discovery Education makes it easy to accomplish this goal by indicating where certain resources align with our TEKS.
Browse through your DE Streaming account and see what you can find to match your instructional units, subjects taught, and TEKS.
While you're browsing, you can click the QuickList + button (see below) to mark resources you don't want to forget about.
You can return to your QuickList later and organize your files for easy access later. See Activity Card 4 for more information about organizing!
If you ever need to review searching tips, visit the Getting Started Step-By-Step Guides in your Professional Learning Center.
Now search through DE resources with your next instructional unit in mind. You can easily tag or organize the things you find and come back to them later. Activity Card 4 covers organizing your DE content.
