Images are incredibly valuable in the learning process. Marzano tells us about the importance of non-linguistic representation as a strategy to reinforce concepts and reach more learners.
We want students to create artifacts of their learning, and using images is a wonderful way to make that happen. It's easy to grab images off Google, but in this modern, digital world we have to teach students the digital citizenship concept of respecting intellectual property.
Your DE subscription includes hundreds of images you and your students can link to or download, and they provide citation information to make adhering to copyright and digital citizenship easy.
Just remember, you are only able to use images and media you've downloaded while your DE subscription is current. If you're no longer a subscriber you're required by law to delete all downloads.
Songs, sound effects, and other audio resources provide multi-sensory avenues to help make learning "sticky" for our students. Click the images below to sample some of the audio files available in your DE Streaming account.
Spotlight on Strategies (SOS) are teacher resources that show you how to incorporate DE media into instructional activities. There are LOTS of great SOS strategies in the Professional Learning Center! Click the image below to see an SOS called "Sound Check" showing you a way to incorporate audio resources into a lesson.
The staff at Discovery Education knows you are a) excited about all the amazing resources in your account, and b) don't always have the TIME to go find them all! Content Collections were designed to gather up multiple resources around certain popular classroom topics to make them easy for teachers to access and use immediately. They are divided into grade bands and even have lesson starters to help make your life easier.

Technology has made it easy to expand the walls of our classrooms and make the concepts we are teaching more real and accessible. Check out the DE Events Calendar to see what virtual field trip events are coming up, or browse the virtual field trip landing page to see upcoming trips and look through the archive of past events.
Discovery Boards allow you (and your students!) to pull together a variety of DE resources (videos, images, sounds, etc.) into a collection to support a lesson or showcase learning.
