Each team will compete in a match of Best-of-3 sets, where each player will compete in a set of Best-of-3 games against a player from the opposing team.
Example:
Set 1: Team A, Player 1 vs Team B, Player 1 (Best-of-3 games)
Set 2: Team A, Player 2 vs Team B, Player 2 (Best-of-3 games)
Set 3: Team A, Player 3 vs Team B, Player 3 (Best-of-3 games)
The winning team of the match will be determined by the team to win two of the three sets. During the group stage, all 3 sets will be played concurrently, regardless of the individual outcomes. This is to allow all students in the team to play. In the 3rd Place and Championship match, each set will be played individually on the main stage, with Set 3 only being played if needed.

The event fee is per team. This includes 3-6 players for Super Smash Bros. and 2-4 players for Mario Kart 8.
Teams must have the minimum amount of players for their game (3 for Super Smash Bros. and 2 for Mario Kart 8). It is highly recommended that you use the allotment of additional substitutes for the tournament in case a student is not able to attend the tournament.
Yes! As part of your event fee, you are able to bring 3 additional subs for Super Smash Bros. and 2 for Mario Kart 8.
You are allowed to bring additional students to spectate. Please be mindful that space is limited in the venue. You would be responsible for their transportation and meals as well.
Yes! Spectators are allowed, so please encourage your parents to attend. We will try our best to set up spaces with the ability to spectate, however it is not guaranteed except for the 3rd Place and Championship matches which will be shown on the projectors. Due to the nature of all the matches occurring at the same time, it may be difficult to have spectators watch a match without causing distractions or interference with the players.
Meals will NOT be provided at this event. Schools will be responsible for providing their own lunch for students. We will be trying to hold to a strict schedule and have at least an hour break for lunch. Students are also encouraged to bring their own snacks.
We encourage students to bring their own controller for their game. It is recommended that the controller be wired for easier pairing. We are not responsible for issues with pairing with a console. Controllers should not be modded or provide any unfair advantage to the player. We will have some Joy-Cons available but are not guaranteed. Students can also bring their own Nintendo Switch's for practice or entertainment as they wait for their next match.
